CAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Khalid Abdullah, Sr., RB, James Madison (Newport News, Va./Heritage)
Abdullah rushed for a career-high 172 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in James Madison’s 31-20 victory at Maine last Saturday. It was the third straight 100-yard performance for Abdullah, who broke loose for a career-long 85-yard scoring run early in the third quarter and also had a 3-yard TD run in the first period.
CAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Tanoh Kpassagnon, Sr., DE, Villanova (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon)
Kpassagnon recorded seven tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks in Villanova’s 31-14 road triumph at Lafayette last Saturday. The senior defensive end also recovered a fumble on the opening play of the game and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown to give the Wildcats a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Demetrius Oliver, Jr. WR, Elon (Portsmouth, Va./Ashbrook)
Oliver blocked a punt on William & Mary’s opening possession of the game that led to an Elon field goal in the Phoenix’s 27-10 victory over the Tribe. The junior also made a tackle on special teams.
CAA Football Co-Rookie of the Week
Xavier Goodall, Fr., RB, Richmond
Goodall rushed for a career-high 127 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in Richmond’s 38-31 win over nationally ranked Colgate. The Spiders' tailback became the first UR freshman since 1991 to run for over 100 yards.
CAA Football Co-Rookie of the Week
Khalil Moore, Fr., DB, Elon (Charlotte, N.C./Davidson Day)
Moore made a career-high 10 tackles and also broke up two passes as Elon knocked off No. 8 William & Mary, 27-10. The freshman defensive back led a strong performance from the Phoenix defense as they beat a Top 10 foe for just the second time in school history.
