CAA BASKETBALL BROADCAST SCHEDULE
ARLINGTON, Va. (October 25, 2016) – The Colonial Athletic Association announced a comprehensive men’s and women’s basketball broadcast package for the 2016-17 season. The announcement was made during the conference’s Media Day festivities on Tuesday in Arlington, Va.
As of press time, CAA teams will be featured in 75 televised games thanks in large part to the conference’s agreements with the NBC Sports Regional Networks and the American Sports Network. Additional games will be added to the television schedule prior to the start of the regular season. CAA fans will also be provided with internet broadcasts of hundreds of additional games through CAA.TV, the conference’s digital network. CAA.TV will provide coverage of any non-televised conference games.
“We’re very pleased to continue our partnerships with the NBC Sports Regional Networks and the American Sports Network,” said CAA Commissioner Joe D’Antonio. “They provide outstanding exposure for our men’s and women’s basketball programs. We also are committed to the growth of our digital network, CAA.TV, which gives fans the opportunity to watch hundreds of games on their smart phones, tablets, computers and other devices.
NBC Sports Regional Networks, which includes CSN Mid-Atlantic, CSN Philadelphia, CSN New England, The Comcast Network and SNY, will televise 15 men’s and women’s basketball games, including the quarterfinals and semifinals of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship and the semifinals and finals of the CAA Women’s Basketball Championship. NBC Sports Regional Networks consists of 10 regional networks that deliver more than 2,200 live sporting events annually, along with award-winning breaking news, comprehensive analysis, digital content and original programming to more than 43 million homes.
The American Sports Network will televise 16 men’s and women’s contests on affiliate stations throughout the nation. ASN – the collegiate sports initiative of the Sinclair Broadcast Group – has affiliates that reach approximately 40 percent of U.S. households. Sinclair operates 173 television stations airing 483 channels in 81 markets, and has affiliations with all the major networks nationwide.
In the near future, the conference expects to announce an agreement with a major sports network to carry the title game of the CAA Men’s Basketball championship to a national audience.
In addition, CAA teams will make appearances on the ESPN family of networks, and other contests will be televised by FS1, CBS Sports Network, the SEC Network, the Big Ten Network, and the ACC Regional Network.
