RICHMOND, Va. – CAA Football has named Stony Brook running back Stacey Bedell, Elon linebacker Corey Mitchell, James Madison cornerback Rashad Robinson and UAlbany running back Elliot Croskey as the league’s award winners from week two.
Offensive Player of the Week
Stacey Bedell | RB | Stony Brook
- Piled up 133 yards on 22 rushing attempts in Stony Brook’s dominant 38-9 win over Central Connecticut St.
- Scored a career-high three touchdowns on the ground, coming from 25 yards, eight yards and two yards out, respectively.
- The performance marked his seventh-career 100-yard rushing game.
Defensive Player of the Week
Corey Mitchell | LB | Elon
- Posted a game-high 18 tackles – doubling his previous career best – as Elon outlasted Gardner-Webb on the road in three overtimes.
- Forced a third-quarter fumble that resulted in Elon scoring the game’s first points on the ensuing drive.
- Added one tackle-for-loss and one pass breakup for the Phoenix.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Rashad Robinson | CB | James Madison
- Scooped up a fumbled Lehigh punt attempt and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter of James Madison’s 55-17 victory.
- Also recovered a fourth-quarter JMU onside kick that set up an eventual Dukes touchdown drive.
Rookie of the Week
Elliot Croskey | RB | UAlbany
- Ran 33 times for a game-high 141 yards as UAlbany won its conference opener against Rhode Island, 35-7.
- Posted the first two rushing touchdowns of his career, including a 36-yard score late in the fourth quarter.
- Added three receptions for 17 yards out of the backfield.
