RICHMOND, Va. –
CAA Football’s 2015 schedule is officially set, featuring a total of 36 non-conference games along with 48 league matchups. Each CAA Football member will play three non-conference and eight conference games in the upcoming season.

The 2015 campaign will officially kick off with four games on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 3.

Of the 36 non-conference games, 13 will be played against opponents from the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. CAA Football teams will take on foes from the ACC (Wake Forest, Boston College, Syracuse, Virginia and North Carolina), the Big Ten (Maryland), the American Athletic Conference (UConn, East Carolina, Tulane and SMU), the Mid-American Conference (Toledo and Buffalo), and the Mountain West (San Jose St.).

Of the 13 FBS opponents on the schedule, six competed in bowl games last year. Every league member will play at least one FBS game in 2015.

CAA Football’s 13 scheduled matchups against the FBS are an increase of two from last season. The league has won 31 games against college football’s highest division throughout its history.

CAA Football teams will also take on a total of 23 non-conference FCS foes in 2015, spanning seven rival leagues. The CAA went 28-14 overall against non-conference FCS opponents last season, including a 4-4 mark in the postseason.

None of CAA Football’s non-conference games in 2015 will be played against programs from outside of Division I.

The 2015 CAA Football conference schedule gets underway on Sept. 12 when Rhode Island visits UAlbany. League games will then take place each Saturday through Nov. 21, with the FCS playoffs starting the following weekend.

CAA Football’s conference slate will feature four matchups between teams that reached the 2014 FCS playoffs. Richmond will compete in three of them – all on the road - playing at James Madison on Oct. 24, New Hampshire on Nov. 7 and Villanova on Nov. 14. James Madison will also host Villanova on the season’s final Saturday.

New Hampshire claimed last year’s CAA Football title, amassing the first unbeaten league record since 2008. The Wildcats spent multiple weeks ranked No. 1 in the nation and went on to reach the FCS national semifinals.

Game times will be finalized later this summer, as will CAA Football’s complete television schedule. The conference will once again feature one of the nation’s most comprehensive TV lineups with broadcast partners NBC Sports Network, NBC Sports Regional Networks and the American Sports Network.
