RICHMOND, Va. - CAA Football announced its week one conference awards on Monday, with Richmond quarterback Michael Strauss, UAlbany linebacker Neil Morrison, William & Mary kicker John Carpenter and Richmond running back Jeremiah Hamlin earning recognition.
Offensive Player of the Week
Michael Strauss | QB | Richmond

-Went 17-of-23 for 259 yards in Richmond’s 55-10 win over Morehead State.

-Tossed three touchdown passes in the game, moving into third on Richmond’s all-time list with 38 in his career.

-Two of his touchdown passes came in the first half, helping UR take a 25-3 lead into the break.
Defensive Player of the Week
Neil Morrison | LB | UAlbany

-With UAlbany trailing Holy Cross 13-6 with under a minute remaining, picked up a fumble and returned it 79 yards for the game-winning touchdown.

-Posted eight total tackles in the game, including half a tackle-for-loss.

-Helped UAlbany’s defense hold Holy Cross to an average of just 2.9 yards on 41 rushing attempts in the game.
