Pairings Set For CAA Women's Soccer Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (October 26, 2014) - The field is set for the 2014 CAA Women's Soccer Championship after a competitive regular-season race that finished in dramatic fashion.
The six-team event will open with quarterfinal action on Sunday, November 2 before moving to Northeastern's Parsons Field in Brookline, Mass. for the semifinals and finals on November 7 and 9.
In the quarterfinals on Nov. 2, #4 William & Mary (11-5-1 overall, 5-4 in CAA) entertains #5 Drexel (7-8-3 overall, 4-3-2 in CAA) at 2 p.m. and #3 Hofstra (11-6-1, 6-2-1 in CAA) hosts #6 Towson (6-8-4, 3-4-2 in CAA) at 1 p.m.
The tournament continues on Friday, November 7 with semifinal action at Northeastern, which captured its first regular-season title since 2009. The top-seeded Huskies (12-4-3, 7-1-1 in CAA) meets the W&M/Drexel winner and #2 James Madison (12-7, 7-2 in CAA) faces the Hofstra/Towson winner.
The CAA championship match will be played at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 9 with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. The game will be televised live on the American Sports Network.
Five different schools have won the CAA women's soccer championship over the past five seasons.
