CAA Football Announces Chuck Boone Leadership Award Nominees

RICHMOND, Va. – Nominees from each of CAA Football’s 12 member institutions have been announced for the league’s Chuck Boone Leadership Award.
 
The award, which is in its third year, is presented annually to the CAA Football player who embodies the highest standards of leadership, integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship in his academic and athletic achievements.
 
One nominee was put forward from each CAA Football program, with voting to be conducted by the league’s athletic directors. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
 
The award is named after Chuck Boone, a former coach and athletic director at Richmond. Boone also served as executive director of the Yankee Conference, a predecessor of CAA Football. New Hampshire’s Chris Zarkoskie and Maine’s Marcus Wasilewski received the honor in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
 
Nominees for this year’s award will be featured during CAA Football on Comcast SportsNet broadcasts throughout the fall. The nominees are as follows:

-       Miles Williams, Elon (human service studies)
-       Dean Marlowe, James Madison (sport and recreation management)
-       Khari Al-Mateen, Maine (business management)
-       Rob Bowman, New Hampshire (entrepreneurial studies/management)
-       Mike Rinaldi, Rhode Island (marine affairs/political science)
-       Austin Gund, Richmond (leadership studies)
-       Christian Ricard, Stony Brook (technological systems management)
-       Ryan Delaire, Towson (health care management)
-       Poppy Livers, Villanova (liberal arts)
-       Jasper Coleman, William & Mary (kinesiology and health science)
