PATTERSON, PATROVICH EARN CAA WRESTLERS OF THE WEEK

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—Josh Patterson of Binghamton University and Ryan Patrovich of Hofstra University are the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestlers of the Week, and Justin Accordino of Hofstra and Robert Robinson of Drexel University are the CAA Rookies of the Week, for all competition February 10-16.

Patterson, a junior 184 from Ontario, N.Y. (Wayne Central), won all three of his matches last week with a pair of falls and a victory over the seventh ranked wrestler in the nation from Wyoming.  His pin in a CAA victory over Sacred Heart broke the Binghamton team record, and Patterson now has 19 falls this year, the most of any 184 pounder in the nation. Patterson improved to 37-4 overall and is ranked eighth by InterMat and the Coaches Panel and ninth by Amateur Wrestling News.

Patrovich, a sophomore 165 from Bohemia, NY (Islip), won both of his decisions last week, including a victory over the ninth ranked wrestler in the nation from Edinboro. Patrovich has now won eight of his last 11 matches, improving to 17-6 on the season, and is ranked 19th by Amateur Wrestling News and 21st by the Coaches Panel.

Accordino, a freshman 141 from Wilkes-Barre, PA (Coughlin), won both of his matches last week, including a fall in just 40 seconds against Buffalo. It was his ninth pin of the season and third fastest, improving to 19-10 overall.

Robinson, a freshman 149 from Pittston, PA (Pittston Area), won both of his matches last week, including a victory over the Columbia wrestler who was ranked in the preseason top 20.
