With the start of practice for CAA men's basketball teams just days away, we're taking an early look at all nine squads. Today we feature the league's newest member the College of Charleston, and Delaware, which is coming off its best finish ever in the conference in 2012-13.

CofC reached the Southern Conference championship game a year ago and earned a posteseason berth in the CBI…The Cougars were 11-2 away from home last season, which was tied for the second-most road wins in Division I…All four of CofC’s returning starters made at least 30 starts last season…The Cougars led the SoCon in FG% defense (40.8%), 3-point FG% defense (30.1%), rebound margin (+5.4 rpg) and blocked shots (4.3 bpg) in 2012-13…Forward Adjehi Baru topped the SoCon in rebounding (8.3 rpg) and was fourth in FG percentage (50.6%) and blocks (1.3 bpg)…Junior guard Anthony Stitt was second on the team in scoring (11.0 ppg) and shot 40.1% from 3-point range...CofC coach Doug Wojcik played in the CAA as a point guard at Navy and was honored as a member of the CAA’s 25th Anniversary team.

Delaware’s 13 CAA victories last season were its most ever…The Blue Hens’ second-place CAA finish was their highest ever and they reached the semifinals of the CAA Tournament for the first time since 2003…Devon Saddler enters his senior season with 1,670 career points, which ranks 3rd on UD’s all-time list and is the second-most of any Division I player in the nation behind Creighton All-America Doug McDermott…Saddler ranked 18th nationally in scoring last season and has scored double figures in 38 of his last 39 games…Jarvis Threatt was the only player ranked among the top 20 in the CAA in scoring (13.0 ppg/14th), rebounding (5.7 rpg/17th), assists (3.2 apg/7th) and steals (1.8 spg/3rd)…Kyle Anderson was 6th in the CAA in 3-pointers per game (1.9) and 8th in 3-point FG percentage (33.7%).
