CAA Swimming and Diving Honors – Feb. 12
RICHMOND, Va. (Feb. 12, 2013) - The Towson trio of Brandon Smiddy, Taylor Paskoff, and Lyndsey Dickson swept this week's CAA Swimming and Diving honors following strong individual performances at the Virginia Tech Invitational and the West Chester Diving Invitational last weekend.
Smiddy collects men's Swimmer of the Week honors for the first time this season after posting two top-five finishes at the Virginia Tech Invitational. He posted a time of 4:49.24 to earn fourth place in the 500 free, while finishing with a time of 16:18.94 to take home third-place honors in the 1,650 free. Smiddy also picked up top 10 finishes in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events.
Paskoff picks up her first women's Swimmer of the Week award after capturing four top-five finishes at the Virginia Tech Invitational. She swam a 24.17 in the 50 free and a 51.77 in the 100 free to finish in second place in both events. Paskoff also collected runner-up honors in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.12, and posted a time of 2:06.39 to earn a fourth- place finish in the 200 butterfly.Dickson swept both events at the West Chester Diving Invitational to pick up her sixth women's Diver of the Week award this season. Dickson finished with a score of 283.50 to earn top honors on the one-meter board, while tallying 318.55 points to pick up the victory on the three-meter board.
