RICHMOND, Va. (October 1, 2013) – William & Mary junior Rad Gunzenhauser has been named CAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week thanks to his performance in the Panorama Farms Invitational this past Saturday in Charlottesville, Va.

The Pittsburgh, Pa., native led the Tribe individually with a time of 23:58.8, good for eighth at the 8K event. William & Mary, which is ranked 11th in the Southeast Region of the most-recent USTFCCCA poll, earned an eighth place finish out of 13 teams competing this past weekend. Freshman Tribe runner Trevor Sleight opened up his collegiate career with a solid time of 24:33.1 and placed 34th individually.

It’s the second time this season that Gunzenhauser has earned league weekly honors, with the first occurrence coming in the first race of the year at the 5K Spider Alumni Open, an event in which he won for the second consecutive year. He now owns six career college victories individually.

Other noteworthy performances included Northeastern sophomore Wesley Gallagher, who crossed the line 11th overall at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Saturday with a time of 24.23.0 in the 8K race.
