MGolf Honors - April 3
Delaware’s Braden Shattuck and William & Mary’s Jeremy Wells received CAA Men’s Golfer of the Week honors after earning their first career individual titles at their respective tournaments.
Shattuck earned medalist honors for the first time in his career by posting a three- shot victory at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational. The Aston, Pa., native carded a 1-over par 214 (68-72-74) on the par 71, 7,055-yard course at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa. The freshman's opening round of 68 was his lowest of the season and tied for the lowest by a Blue Hen this season. Shattuck became the first Blue Hen freshman to win a tournament in school history.
Wells led William & Mary to its first overall team title since 2005 at the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational. The Hopewell, Va., native carded an even par 216 (68-72-76) on the par 72, 6,761-yard Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md. En route to winning his first career title, Wells shot a career-best 68 in the opening round. The senior became the Tribe’s first medalist since 2008 and also the first medalist to lead his squad to a team title since 2005.
