PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:
Lara Andrews • Delaware
Wellington, New Zealand/Sacred Heart College HS, Sr., Third Baseman
Andrews receives CAA Player of the Week honors after helping the Blue Hen's to a 4-0 record in the opening weekend of play. The Wellington, New Zealand native batted .417 with a team-high five RBI, five runs scored, and three home runs over the weekend.
Bina Abbott • Towson
Salinas, Calif./North Salinas HS, Sr., First Baseman
Abbott collects CAA Player of the Week honors after helping Towson to a 4-1 record at the ECU Pirate Classic last weekend. The senior first baseman batted .429 over the weekend with six hits, three doubles, two walks, and one home run.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Casey Rowland • UNCW
Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central, So., Pitcher
Rowland earns the first CAA Pitcher of the Week award of 2013 after finishing 2-0 with a 1.35 ERA in three appearances in the UNCW Beach Blast last weekend. Rowland posted a one-hit shutout of Detroit in her season debut, striking out seven Titans in the Seahawks 8-0 victory. The sophomore southpaw finished with 12 strikeouts, and only gave up five hits in 13.1 innings of work over the weekend.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Hannah George • Delaware
Auburn, Calif./Del Oro, Fr., Center Fielder
George led the Blue Hens with six hits while ranking second on the team with three RBI in her first weekend at Delaware to garner CAA Rookie of the Week accolades. The freshman center fielder batted .600 over the weekend with hits in all four of the Blue Hens victories.
