Field Set For 2013 CAA Baseball Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (May 18, 2013) – The field is set for the 2013 CAA Baseball Championship, which will be held May 22-25 at Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg, Va.

The six-team, double-elimination tournament gets underway on Wednesday, May 22 as fourth-seeded Towson (25-28, 14-13 in CAA) faces #5 Northeastern (28-24, 12-15 in CAA) at Noon, followed by #3 Delaware (33-20, 15-12 in CAA) against #6 James Madison (24-28, 11-15 in CAA) at 3:30 p.m. The losers of the first two games will meet in an elimination contest at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Thursday, top-seeded and defending champion UNCW (37-19, 18-8 in CAA) takes on the Towson/Northeastern winner at Noon. At 3:30, #2 William & Mary (35-20, 17-10 in CAA) meets the Delaware/JMU winner at 3:30 p.m. An elimination game follows at 7 p.m.

Tournament action continues with three games on Friday and the CAA championship game is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 25.

Adult all-session tickets are $35 for chairback reserved seats and $25 for general admission. Single-day seats are $15 for chairback reserved and $10 for general admission. JMU faculty/staff, seniors (62+) and youth (6-17) tickets are $15 for all-session passes and $5 for a single-day pass. Students from participating CAA institutions are admitted free with a valid student ID.

Audio and video for every game of the 2013 CAA Baseball Championship will be carried live for free in high definition on CAA.TV and via select CAA mobile apps. A free login will be required to view the games or listen to the action both via CAA.TV on a computer or using the CAA's mobile apps.
