CONFERENCE NOTES:

Northeastern Maintains Top Spot In CAA Standings: Despite back-to-back losses to Delaware (76-74/ot) and UNCW (73-67) last week, Northeastern (12-3) still holds a two-game lead atop the CAA standings with three games to play. Twelve of the Huskies' 15 CAA games have been decided by seven points or less and they are 9-3 in those contests. Northeastern is 7-1 on the road in CAA play with victories over the top three teams in the league's preseason poll (Drexel, Delaware and George Mason) as well at Towson. The Huskies can clinch at least a share of their first CAA regular-season title with a win over second-place James Madison on Wednesday.

Tight Battle For Second: While Northeastern owns a two-game lead atop the CAA standings, the next five teams in the league race are separated by only 1.5 games. James Madison, which has won seven of its last nine, and Towson, which has won five of its last six, are tied for second at 10-5. Delaware, which has won six of its last eight, is fourth at 9-5. Georgia State has won eight of its last 11 and is fifth at 9-6, followed by George Mason at 8-6.

Road Warriors: Road teams went 7-5 in CAA play last week, continuing a season-long trend of success by visiting squads. Home teams are just 40-38 (51.3%) in league action for the year. Six of the CAA's 11 teams have better conference marks on the road than at home, including five of the top seven teams in the standings (Northeastern, Delaware, Towson, George Mason and Drexel).

Parity Around The CAA: Over the past 11 days (since Feb. 7), all 11 CAA teams have recorded at least one win and one loss. No teams have a current winning streak of more than two games and no teams have lost more than three in a row.

Towson's Turnaround: Towson's 10 conference victories are its most since joining the CAA in 2001-02 and the Tigers have reached the 15-win mark for the first time since 2006-07. Towson's 11 victories away from home (8-8 away, 3-0 neutral) are its most since 1976-77. The Tigers are on pace to post one of the biggest turnarounds in NCAA history.

Three CAA Players Among Nation's Top 15 In Rebounding: Towson junior Jerrelle Benimon ranked fourth in the nation in rebounding (11.3 rpg), UNCW senior Keith Rendleman ranked 11th (10.4 rpg) and Delaware senior Jamelle Hagins was 15th (10.1 rpg) through games of Feb. 17. In other categories, Delaware's Devon Saddler was 19th (19.7 ppg) and W&M's Marcus Thornton was 31st (18.8 ppg) in scoring. W&M's Tim Rusthoven was 32nd (55.5%) in FG percentage. UNCW senior Keith Rendleman has recorded double-doubles in five straight games and ranks 4th nationally with 16 while Delaware senior Jamelle Hagins is 12th with 12 double-doubles. Five other CAA players have at least three double-doubles: ODU's DeShawn Painter (9), JMU's Rayshawn Goins (7), William & Mary's Tim Rusthoven (5), Towson's Bilal Dixon (4) and Hofstra's Stephen Nwaukoni (3).

Rendleman, Hagins Among Top 10 On CAA Rebounding Chart: UNCW senior Keith Rendleman and Delaware senior Jamelle Hagins have moved into the top 10 on the CAA's career rebounding list. Rendleman has 1,011 career rebounds and ranks 7th, while Hagins has 999 career boards and ranks 8th. Rendleman is also the 7th player in CAA history to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career and Hagins will join him in the elite club with his next rebound. A complete list of the CAA's career rebound leaders is included on page 6 of the release.

NU's Lee Among Finalists For Senior CLASS Award: Northeastern guard Jonathan Lee is one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, which honors student-athletes who excel on and off the court. Honorees must have noteworthy accomplishments in community, classroom, character and competition. Lee was a third-team All-CAA selection last season after leading the Huskies in scoring (14.5 ppg) and assists (3.5 apg).

UD's Saddler, Hagins Moving Up Career Lists: Delaware guard Devon Saddler has the second-most career points (1,545) of any junior in Division I, trailing only Creighton's Doug McDermott. Saddler, who is averaging a league-best 19.7 ppg this season, has moved up to fifth on UD's all-time scoring list. He has scored double figures in 33 straight games, which is the 2nd-longest active streak in the nation. Blue Hens' forward Jamelle Hagins became UD's all-time leader in rebounds on Jan. 16 and has 999 career boards. He also owns the UD record and ranks 6th in CAA history with 273 career blocked shots.

Youth Movement: There are only eight seniors among the top 30 scorers in the CAA through games of Feb. 17. Northeastern's Joel Smith and UNCW's Keith Rendleman are the only seniors among the top 10. The top 30 also includes 12 juniors, eight sophomores and two freshmen.

Northeastern ranked 50th (37.1%) in 3-point FG percentage. James Madison was 25th (11.3 tpg) and Georgia State was 45th (11.7 tpg) in fewest turnovers per game.

Record-Setting Season For GSU's Hunter: Georgia State's R.J. Hunter is one of five freshmen in the nation averaging at least 17 points and five rebounds per game. The Panthers' guard is just 27 points shy of breaking the school's freshman scoring record of 515 points set by Matt O'Brien in 1989-90. Hunter made 10-of-15 from 3-point range and scored a career-high 38 points in the Panthers' 83-63 victory over Old Dominion on Feb. 2.
