RICHMOND, Va. (April 3, 2013) – Richmond senior Caroline Lovette earned CAA Women’s Golfer of the Week honors after capturing the individual title at the Pinehurst Challenge as she led the Spiders to the overall team title.

Lovette carded 219, three-over par, to earn medalist honors at the par 72, 5,983-yard Pinehurst No. 6 course in Pinehurst, N.C., during the 54-hole tournament. After an opening round score of 76, the senior shot a low-round 71 in round two and clinched the title by shooting a final round 72. The individual title is the second in Lovette’s career, and the first since winning the Spider Invitational her freshman year. Lovette led the Spiders to the team title, which was the second team first place victory this season under the direction of new head coach Maggie Wills. Richmond has now won multiple tournaments in the same season for the first time in program history.
