CAA Football's Week One Player of the Week honorees (click player's name to be taken to his program's release):

Offensive Player of the Week:  Taylor Heinicke, QB, Old Dominion
Heinicke accounted for 530 of Old Dominion's 723 total yards in a 57-23 win over Duquesne.  The sophomore eclipsed personal game highs with 492 passing yards and 41 completions while also helping the Monarchs equal a program mark for 57 points in a game.  Heinicke ended the night with four touchdown passes and 38 rushing yards.

Defensive Player of the Week:  Brian Thompson, DB, William and Mary
Thompson was the third-leading tackler (7 total) for the Tribe, which limited its ACC foe Maryland to 236 yards of offense and forced four turnovers.  The senior garnered one of those turnovers by hauling in a first-quarter interception and returning it 32 yards to setup a William and Mary field goal.

Rookie of the Week:  Sean Goldrich, QB, New Hampshire
Goldrich helped New Hampshire upend Holy Cross, 38-17, on the road in his collegiate debut.  The redshirt freshman completed 21-of-31 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 10 times for a team-best 71 yards.  Goldrich was instrumental in leading the Wildcats on consecutive scoring drives of 98 and 95 yards in the second half.

Special Teams Player of the Week:  Matt Hubbard, P, Georgia State
Hubbard recorded a would-be record-setting performance in Georgia State's season opener Thursday.  The sophomore launched five punts in the contest and averaged a net of 62.2 yards.  The NCAA single-game punting average record in an FCS contest is 61.5 (Idaho State) and in an FBS contest it is 60.4 (BYU & Oklahoma State).  Hubbard, who recorded a long of 80 against South Carolina State, will not be listed in the NCAA record books due to the Panthers' reclassification status.
