RICHMOND, Va., (September 17, 2013) - Towson junior Elizabeth Tauber collected CAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors after finishing in second at the Delaware Invitational.

Tauber helped the Tigers place third as a team at the White Clay Creek State Park with a score of 76 in the field of 16 teams. She earned second place honors and set a new career-best mark for a 6K with a time of 22:08.44. Towson also had solid contributions from junior Ashley Simmons (23:30.80), who finished in 24th place, and freshman Megan Knoblock was close behind with a time of 23:37.06 (29th).

Among other noteworthy performances during the third week of the 2013 cross country season was fellow CAA runner senior Lindsay Prettyman of Delaware, who set a Blue Hen 6K program record with a time of 22:19.99. She broke the previous record time of 22:31.59 set in 2006 and finished fourth individually at the UD Invitational Saturday.

In other CAA women’s cross country news, William & Mary moved up two spots to No. 14 in the USTFCCCA national poll which was released on Tuesday, despite not having a race this past weekend.
