The mission of the Lupus Foundation is to educate and support those affected by lupus and to find a cure. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and tissue damage to virtually any organ system in the body. It strikes mostly women of childbearing age, although women of all ages, as well as men and children, develop lupus. Lupus is a life-threatening, life-diminishing disease.

The Lupus Loop is a 5K run that raises money for the Lupus Foundation in order to continue research and education about Lupus. This year, several Drexel student-athletes from various sports as well as Drexel Athletics staff participated in the Lupus Loop. More than 2000 participants including Drexel’s representatives walked, ran or cheered in support of those living with the challenges of this disease.
