PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Cate Johnson • William & Mary
Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle, So., Goalkeeper

Johnson played exceptionally well in goal for the Tribe last week, turning aside a total of 10 shots on 11 attempts, while her team went 1-1. In a tough 1-0 loss at Richmond on Friday, the sophomore did not allow a goal in 57:15 of action. Johnson got the nod in net on Sunday versus No. 5 Virginia and helped William & Mary earn its first win over a Top-5 foe since 1995 (also Virginia). Playing in her hometown of Charlottesville, she made a career-high eight saves and held the Cavaliers scoreless through the first 62 minutes, allowing the Tribe to hold on for the impressive 2-1 decision. It was William & Mary’s first victory over a ACC opponent since 2004.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Becky Garner • Northeastern
Somerset, England/Millfield Prep, Fr., Goalkeeper

One week after Natalie Stewart became the first Huskie to earn weekly honors, goalkeeper Becky Garner made it two straight for NU after a strong defensive showing. Garner’s first career shutout came in an ideal situation as she made seven saves and helped the Huskies knock off No. 19 Drexel, 1-0, last Friday. The England native also recorded four saves in a 3-2 non-conference defeat at Maine on Sunday. Garner has started all 13 games for Northeastern this season and ranks fourth in the league in saves (67) and saves per game (5.15).
