The Blue Hens captured their second consecutive CAA crown on Sunday to earn the conference's automatic bid, while Drexel, James Madison, and Old Dominion were selected for the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

For the eighth consecutive season at least three CAA teams advanced to the postseason. It's the 13th consecutive season the CAA will have a representative in the WNIT.

The 15th-ranked Blue Hens (30-3) will face 11th-seeded West Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be played on Delaware's home court at the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del., on Sunday, March 24 and is part of the Bridgeport Regional. Tip-off for the contest is 12:15 p.m., and the game will be televised on ESPN2.  The winner advances to a March 26 second-round game and will play the winner of 3rd-seeded North Carolina and 14th-seeded Albany.

Delaware's NCAA tournament appearance will be the Blue Hens' fourth overall trip and second straight. The Blue Hens earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a narrow 59-56 victory over third-seeded Drexel in the CAA Championship game on Sunday. Delaware will enter postseason play with an impressive 30-3 record. Delaware became the first CAA team to post back-to-back 18-0 records in conference play. The Blue Hens take a school-record 25-game win streak into the NCAA Tournament.

West Virginia (17-13) is making its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance after closing out its inaugural season in the Big 12 Conference. The Mountaineers are also making their fourth consecutive appearance in the postseason tournament and are led by Christal Caldwell (13.2 ppg).  Third-seeded North Carolina (28-6), which lost to Duke in the Atlantic Coast Conference title contest, will face No. 14 Albany (27-3) in the other first round contest in Newark, Del. The Great Danes were crowned the America East champion and bring a 19-game winning streak to the postseason.
