RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 23, 2013) – Three CAA Football student-athletes added to their growing collection of postseason accolades when they received All-America honors from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) on Monday.

James Madison senior linebacker Stephon Robertson joined Towson senior offensive lineman Eric Pike and junior running back Terrance West on the 25-player team.

A Buck Buchanan Award finalist again this season, Robertson finished his four years in Harrisonburg ranked fourth on the program’s all-time charts with 445 career tackles and as the FCS active leader in career, solo and assisted stops. The two-time CAA Football Defensive Player of the Year started all 46 collegiate contests in which he appeared, totaling 26 career double-digit tackle efforts along the way.

Pike has also started every game of his collegiate career, establishing a school record with his 49 career starts. The two-time team captain and two-time first team all-conference selection has played a pivotal role in Towson leading CAA Football in both scoring offense (38.5 points per game) and total offense (471.9 yards per game) this season.

A Walter Payton Award finalist, West is the leading rusher in all of college football. He has rushed for an FCS single-season record 2,410 yards on 391 carries in 2013. The CAA Football Offensive Player of the Year also leads college football with 41 touchdowns scored, including 40 on the ground. His 41 scores also represent an FCS single season record.

CAA Football (122 appearances/112 players) leads all FCS conferences on the AFCA All-America Team since 1979. The organization’s complete list of 2013 All-Americans can be found here.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team every year since 1945. The organization’s teams are unique in that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the nation’s coaches.
