RICHMOND, Va. (September 17, 2013) – College of Charleston junior Mackenzie Johnston has been named CAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week after breaking the school record in the 8K at the Furman Cross Country Classic this past weekend.

The Hilton Head, S.C., native paced the Cougars and broke the record with a time of 24:51.18. CofC finished seventh overall, with Johnston racing well enough versus strong competition to finish 25th individually. Fellow Cougar Adam Seften followed with a time of 24:59.85 – which was also good enough to break the school record.

William & Mary men’s cross country did not race this past weekend, though the Tribe hold the No. 13 spot in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional poll.
