CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Manny Atkins • Georgia State
Jr., F, 6-7, 205 - Tucker, Ga./Tucker

Atkins averaged 21.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in Georgia State's 2-0 week. The junior forward had 21 points, five rebounds and a career-high five steals in the Panthers' 74-58 win over William & Mary and tallied 21 points and five boards in a 69-54 victory at ODU. For the week, Atkins shot 52.2% from the floor, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range, and was 13-for-13 at the FT line.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Quincy Ford • Northeastern
So., F, 6-8, 212 - St. Petersburg, Fla./Gibbs

Ford averaged 20.5 points while shooting 63% from the floor as Northeastern improved to 6-0 in CAA play with a pair of wins. The sophomore forward poured in 24 points on 11-of-17 FG shooting in a 65-60 victory over Hofstra and tallied 17 points in a 74-70 triumph at Delaware. Ford has scored double figures in four straight games and eight of his last nine.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Marko Gujanicic • George Mason
Fr., F, 6-8, 226 - Cacak, Serbia/Stoneridge Prep (Calif.)

Gujanicic posted his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in just 19 minutes off the bench to help Mason rally for a 68-57 victory over JMU last Tuesday. He also chipped in four points and five rebounds in 16 minutes as the Patriots topped Hofstra 57-46 on Saturday. Gujanicic is the first Mason freshman to record a double-double since 2008.

CONFERENCE NOTES:

Northeastern Matches Best CAA Start Ever: Northeastern has matched its best start ever in CAA play at 6-0 after victories over Hofstra (65-60) and at Delaware (74-70) last week. The Huskies, who have already won road games at second-place Towson and the top three teams in the CAA preseason poll (Drexel, Delaware and George Mason), were also 6-0 to open CAA action in 2008-09. Northeastern has won seven of its last eight contests overall and starts a four-game homestand this week against William & Mary and George Mason.

Towson Reaches More Milestones: Towson is off to its best overall start since 1999-2000 following victories at Delaware (69-66) and over James Madison (73-47) last week. The Tigers have captured six of their last seven overall and have won four straight on the road for the first time since 2005-06. Towson is also off to its best start ever in CAA play (5-1). In the span of 11 days, the Tigers snapped Drexel's 17-game CAA regular-season winning streak (Jan. 5) and Delaware's 10-game CAA regular-season winning streak (Jan. 16).

Three CAA Players Among Nation's Top 13 In Rebounding: Towson junior Jerrelle Benimon leads the nation in rebounding (11.7 rpg), Delaware senior Jamelle Hagins ranks second (11.7 rpg) and UNCW senior Keith Rendleman is 13th (10.6 rpg) through games of Jan. 20. In other categories, Delaware's Devon Saddler was 18th (20.3 ppg) and Mason's Sherrod Wright was 44th (18.1 ppg) in scoring. W&M's Tim Rusthoven was 40th (54.5%) and Benimon was 43rd (54.0%) in FG percentage. NU's Joel Smith was 33rd in FT percentage (88.1%) and 46th in 3-point FG percentage (39.8%). Hagins was 25th (2.6 bpg), GSU's James Vincent was 28th (2.5 bpg) and Benimon was 46th (2.2 bpg) in blocked shots.

Towson's Benimon Leads Nation In Double-Doubles: Towson junior Jerrelle Benimon is tied with Bucknell's Mike Muscala for the national lead in double-doubles with 13 through games of Jan. 20. Benimon has posted double-doubles in five straight games, which is the longest streak for a Towson player since Brian Matthews in 1977. Delaware senior Jamelle Hagins has 11 double-doubles and is tied for 5th nationally while UNCW senior Keith Rendleman is tied for 11th with nine. Seven other CAA players have multiple double-doubles: ODU's DeShawn Painter (5), JMU's Rayshawn Goins (4), Towson's Bilal Dixon (2), Northeastern's Quincy Ford (2), William & Mary's Tim Rusthoven (2), Northeastern's Reggie Spencer (2) and UNCW's Cedrick Williams (2).

GSU's Hunter Among Nation's Top Freshmen: Georgia State freshman guard R.J. Hunter is one of just six freshmen in the nation to average at least 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game through Jan. 16. Hunter, who leads all CAA freshmen in scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.8 rpg), has topped the 20-point mark seven times this season.

Mason's Wright Hits 20-Point Mark Again: George Mason junior guard Sherrod Wright has scored 20 or more points in eight of his last 10 games after tallying 23 points in a victory over James Madison and 21 points in a win over Hofstra last week. Wright, who is averaging 19.5 ppg in CAA play, has nine 20-point efforts for the season.

Delaware's Three-Point Streak Ends At 675: Delaware saw its streak of 675 games with a made three-pointer come to an end on Jan. 16 when the Blue Hens went 0-for-8 from beyond the arc in a 69-66 setback to Towson. The streak dated back to November, 1990.

Hagins, Rendleman Moving Up CAA Rebounding Chart: Delaware senior Jamelle Hagins and UNCW senior Keith Rendleman have moved into the top 12 on the CAA's career rebounding list. Hagins has 935 career boards and ranks 10th, while Rendleman has 921 career rebounds and ranks 12th. Hagins is the all-time leading rebounder at UD and Rendleman is second on UNCW's career chart. A complete list is included on page 6 of the release.

UD's Saddler, Hagins Moving Up Career Lists: Delaware guard Devon Saddler has the second-most career points (1,369) of any junior in Division I, trailing only Creighton's Doug McDermott. Saddler, who is averaging a league-best 19.7 ppg this season, ranks ninth on UD's all-time scoring list. Blue Hens' forward Jamelle Hagins became UD's all-time leader in rebounds (935) on Jan. 16, passing the mark of 916 set by Spencer Dunkley (1989-92). He also owns the UD record and ranks 6th in CAA history with 257 career blocked shots.

Youth Movement: There are just seven seniors among the top 30 scorers in the CAA through games of Jan. 20. Northeastern's Joel Smith and UNCW's Keith Rendleman are the only seniors among the top 10. The top 30 also includes 12 juniors, seven sophomores and four freshmen.

Freshmen Among Steals Leaders: ODU guard Keenan Palmore leads the CAA with 1.9 steals per game and is among four freshmen among the league's top 15 in steals. JMU's Andre Nation is 7th (1.7 spg), GSU's R.J. Hunter is 8th (1.5 spg) and Northeastern's David Walker is 13th (1.3 spg).

Delaware Ranked 8th Nationally In Free Throw Shooting: Delaware was ranked 8th in the nation in free throw percentage at 76.5% according to the latest NCAA stats through games of Jan. 20. In other team categories, Towson was 25th (38.3%) and George Mason was 44th (39.1%) in FG percentage defense and the Tigers were also 36th in rebound margin (+6.0 rpg). William & Mary was 9th (27.7%) and Hofstra was 41st (30%) in 3-point FG% defense, while Northeastern ranked 49th in FT percentage (73.4%). In blocked shots, Towson was ranked 24th (5.3 bpg), Delaware was 41st (4.9 bpg) and JMU was 42nd (4.9 bpg).

Delaware

• Lost home games to Towson (69-66) and Northeastern (74-70) last week, ending their five-game overall winning streak and 10-game CAA regular-season win streak.

• Devon Saddler had a team-high 16 points vs. TU and 10 points vs. NU. Saddler has scored double digits in 24 straight games and has tallied 20+ points seven times.

• Jamelle Hagins averaged 16.0 ppg and 9.5 rpg last week, including his 11th double-double (16 pts/11 reb) vs. NU. He broke the school record for career rebounds (935) and went over 1,000 career points (1,027).

• Sophomore Jarvis Threatt scored a season-high 21 points and dished out a career-high seven assists vs. NU. He's averaging 16.8 ppg over his past eight contests.

• Sophomore Kyle Anderson scored a season-best 19 points vs. Northeastern.

• UD went 36-for-42 at the FT line last week and is shooting 76.5% for the season.

Drexel

• Ended a 3-game slide with a 59-48 victory at William & Mary on Saturday.

• Frantz Massenat scored a team-high 19 points and had 4 assists at W&M. He's averaging 18.6 ppg over his last five games. Massenat ranks 10th in career assists (347) at Drexel and is averaging 4.2 apg.

• Sophomore Damion Lee returned at W&M after missing 2 games with a knee injury and scored 10 points off the bench. Lee has tallied double digits in 12 straight games and ranks 4th in the CAA with 17.5 ppg.

• Daryl McCoy has missed the last two games with a foot injury. McCoy is averaging 11.2 rpg over his last 4 games and ranks 10th all-time in rebounds at Drexel (747).

• Junior Dartaye Ruffin had 8 points and a season-high tying 11 rebounds at W&M.

• Coach Bruiser Flint won his 205th game at Drexel, moving into a tie for 2nd on the school's career victories list.

George Mason

• Moved into 3rd place after home victories over JMU (68-57) and Hofstra (57-46) last week. Won back-to-back games by double digits for the first time since last February.

• Junior Sherrod Wright tallied a team-high 23 points vs. JMU and 21 vs. Hofstra. Wright has scored 20 or more points a league-high nine times this season, with eight coming in the last 10 games.

• Wright has been Mason's top scorer in 15 of 18 games. He ranks among the CAA's top six in scoring, FG percentage, 3-pt FG percentage and FT percentage.

• Freshman Marko Gujanicic posted his first career double-double vs. JMU with 10 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.

• Mason held JMU to 36.7% FG shooting and Hofstra to 22.9% FG shooting. The Patriots lead the CAA in scoring defense (61.9 ppg) and are 2nd in FG percentage defense (39.1).

Georgia State

• Rallied from a 14-point deficit to defeat W&M 74-58 and won at ODU (74-58) for the first time since 1977-78 last week.

• Manny Atkins scored a team-high 21 points vs. W&M and ODU. Atkins, who tops the CAA in 3-pt FG% (42.3%), has scored double digits in 14 of his last 15 games with five 20+ point efforts. He has hit his last 15 FT's.

• Guard R.J. Hunter, who leads all CAA freshmen in scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounding (5.8 rpg), netted 20 points at ODU. He's scored double figures 15 times and has seven 20-point outings.

• Junior Devonta White added 15 points and 7 assists at ODU. He's reached double digits in 14 straight games. White ranks 4th in the CAA in assists and 6th in steals.

• GSU made 23-of-25 (92%) at the FT line vs. W&M. The Panthers are shooting a league-best 78.9% from the FT line in CAA play.

• GSU has had seven games decided by 3 points or less and is 3-4 in those contests.

Hofstra

• Fell 65-60 at Northeastern and 57-46 at George Mason last week. The Pride is 5-3 at home but 0-9 on the road this season.

• Senior forward David Imes scored a team-high 19 points at NU, which was one shy of his career high. Imes drained a career-best five 3-pointers on six attempts.

• Sophomore Taran Buie had 11 points at NU and a team-high 14 points at Mason. Buie has tallied double digits in 12 of his last 13 games and has 3 20+-point efforts.

• Stevie Mejia tallied 12 points and 4 assists at NU and scored 10 points at Mason. Mejia ranks 3rd in the CAA in assists (4.1 apg) and has scored double digits 11 times.

• Stephen Nwaukoni had 11 points and 8 rebounds at NU and grabbed 12 boards at Mason. He ranks 5th in the CAA with 7.9 rpg and has had 10+ boards five times.

• Hofstra made a season-high eight treys at NU and shot 47.1% (8-17) from beyond the arc, but hit just 1-of-13 treys at Mason.

James Madison

• Dropped road games at George Mason (68-57) and Towson (73-47) last week.

• Senior Rayshawn Goins had 13 points at Mason, which was his 9th straight game in double figures and 7th straight game as JMU's top scorer. Both streaks ended at Towson when he was held to four points.

• Senior Devon Moore leads the CAA in assists (4.4 apg) and is just the third JMU player with over 400 career assists (409).

• Freshman Ron Curry scored all 11 of his points in the first half at Mason. Curry hit 3-of-6 from 3-point range and reached double figures for the fifth time.

• Senior Alioune Diouf led JMU in scoring for the first time this season with 11 points at Towson. It was the first time in 16 games that he's tallied double digits.

• JMU shot just 25.5% from the floor at Towson, which was its lowest FG percentage in a game since Feb. 7, 2000.

UNCW

• Defeated ODU 65-60 for its 2nd straight CAA win last Wednesday. UNCW is 7-1 at home but 0-9 on the road this season.

• Junior Chris Dixon scored a team-high 14 points vs. ODU after tallying a career-best 30 points vs. Mason on Jan. 12.

• Keith Rendleman posted his 9th double-double of the season with 14 points and a team-high 13 rebounds vs. ODU. Rendleman is only the 2nd UNCW player with 900 career rebounds (921).

• Guard Craig Ponder scored 13 points in the ODU win. Ponder ranks second among all CAA freshmen in scoring with 9.1 ppg.

• UNCW had a 39-36 rebounding advantage against ODU. The Seahawks lead the CAA in rebound margin (8.4 rpg) in league play.

• Cedrick Williams scored nine points and tied a school record with six blocks vs. ODU. He ranks 4th in the CAA with 1.8 bpg.

Northeastern

• Matched their best CAA start ever (6-0) after beating Hofstra (65-60) and Delaware (74-70) last week.

• Quincy Ford scored a team-high 24 points vs. Hofstra and 17 points at UD while shooting 63% from the floor. Ford has tallied double figures in 8 of his last 9 games.

• Senior Joel Smith was 6-of-8 from 3-point range and averaged 14.5 ppg last week. Smith has made a league-high 45 treys and ranks 6th in the CAA in scoring (16.0 ppg).

• Forward Reggie Spencer has scored double digits 11 times and ranks 2nd in the CAA in FG percentage (54.6%).

• Jonathan Lee scored 14 points and tied a season-high with 7 assists at UD. He's averaging 12.8 ppg and 4.6 apg in 9 games since returning from a preseason foot injury.

• In six CAA games, NU has outscored opponents 125-57 in points off turnovers.

• Northeastern is 6-1 in true games, including 4-0 in the CAA.

Old Dominion

• Lost 65-60 at UNCW and 69-54 to Georgia State last week. Have dropped six in a row.

• Senior DeShawn Painter tallied team-highs of 18 points and 8 rebounds at UNCW. He leads the Monarchs in scoring (11.3 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg) and has posted five double-doubles this season.

• Sophomore Dimitri Batten came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points vs. GSU. He made 3-of-5 from 3-point range.

• ODU was outrebounded in both games last week after being beaten on the glass just once in its first 16 games. ODU ranks 2nd in the CAA in rebound margin (+5.0 rpg).

• Freshman guard Deion Clark, who has started 9 games and is averaging 5.6 ppg, is out indefinitely with a knee injury.

• Sophomore Richard Ross had 11 points and 5 rebounds in just 20 minutes off the bench at UNCW and blocked a career-high five shots against GSU.

Towson

• Earned a 69-66 win at Delaware and a 73-47 victory over JMU last week. Have won 6 of their last 7 overall and four straight on the road for the first time since 2005-06.

• Jerrelle Benimon posted double-doubles vs. UD (19pts/13reb) and JMU (13pts/12reb) and leads the nation with 13 for the season. Benimon is averaging 18.9 ppg, 13.9 rpg, 3.9 apg and 2.9 bpg over his last seven contests.

• Junior Marcus Damas tallied 13 points and 7 rebounds vs. UD. He's scored double figures in seven of his last 10 games.

• Freshman Jerome Hairston scored 13 points in the JMU win and has tallied double figures in 4 of his last 5 games.

• Bilal Dixon had 13 points and 7 rebounds vs. JMU. Dixon is 26-of-35 (74.3%) from the floor over the last seven games.

• Rafriel Guthrie scored 15 points off the bench at UD and contributed 10 points and three steals in 12 minutes vs. JMU.

William & Mary

• Fell 74-58 at Georgia State and 59-48 to Drexel last week. Have lost seven in a row.

• Junior Tim Rusthoven posted his 2nd double-double at GSU with 20 points and 10 rebounds and followed with a team-high 19 points vs. Drexel. Rusthoven has scored double figures in 14 of 17 games and has grabbed 7 or more boards 11 times.

• Marcus Thornton netted 13 points at GSU and 14 against Drexel. Thornton, who has tallied double digits in 19 straight games, ranks 3rd in the CAA in scoring (17.8 ppg) and leads the league in treys per game (2.6).

• Junior Brandon Britt scored 13 points vs. Drexel and is averaging 14.4 ppg over his last five games.

• The trio of Rusthoven, Thornton and Britt accounted for 46 of W&M's 48 points vs. Drexel and have scored 68.4% of the team's points this season.

• W&M leads the league in FG percentage (44.5%), but is shooting 40% in CAA play.
