RICHMOND, Va. (October 8, 2013) – College of Charleston junior runner Mackenzie Johnston has been named CAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this fall after a strong showing at the Appalachian State Invitational this past weekend.

Johnston, a native of Hilton Head, S.C., paced the Cougars with a time of 25:30.40 in the 8K race, finishing 11th overall. CofC, meanwhile, earned a fifth-place team finish at the event. Johnston has fared well in 8K races this season, previously winning the league’s weekly honors on Sept. 17 after breaking the program record (24:51.18) for the same distance at the Furman Cross Country Classic.

Other noteworthy performances included fellow Cougar Adam Seften, who finished second individually for CofC with a time of 25:50.35. Seften also previously won weekly cross country honors this fall on Sept. 3.
