RICHMOND, Va. (November 27, 2012) - Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner Tom Yeager has announced one promotion and one addition to his championships staff.

Katie Lowe was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Women's Basketball and Ashley Bolton was named Assistant Commissioner for Championships.

"I am pleased to be able to promote Katie and welcome Ashley back to our staff," Yeager said. "Each brings a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm to the job and will work to enhance the championship experience for our student-athletes."

Lowe has served as the CAA's Director of Basketball Strategies since 2008. In that role, she has worked to enhance the performance and perception of CAA basketball on the national level. Lowe has helped coordinate game schedules, develop marketing strategies and maximize the conference's presence on television. She annually produces the CAA Basketball Games Management Manual and has helped direct the CAA Women's Basketball Championship. In her new role, she will also oversee several Olympic Sport championships.

Lowe is a 2007 graduate of Hollins University, where she was a member of the school's volleyball team. Prior to coming to the CAA, she spent a year working at the NCAA as an intern with the Division I men's and women's basketball championships.

Bolton returns to the CAA after working for the past 15 months as an Administrative Assistant for Facilities and Operations at the University of Virginia. In that role, she served as event manager for several sports programs, helped coordinate the hosting of ACC and NCAA championships and maintained the facilities and operations budget. Bolton served as the CAA's Support Services Coordinator from 2009-11, where she was involved in the administration and planning of conference championships and oversaw the CAA's merchandise program. In her new role at the CAA, she will administrate conference championships and be involved in scheduling and coordinating coaches meetings.

Bolton is a 2008 graduate of the College of William and Mary, where she was a four-year standout for the Tribe women's lacrosse team. She earned her Master's in Sports Leadership from VCU in 2009.
