RICHMOND, Va. (September 12, 2012) -- Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner Tom Yeager announced a handful of staff changes which will positively impact the future growth of the CAA and its brand.

Earlier this fall Yeager promoted Scott Meyer to Associate Commissioner/Integrated Digital Strategies and Vincent Pierson to Assistant Director of Compliance. Yeager and the CAA staff is also set to welcome two new hires to the league office, including Zach Burrus (CAA Football Director of Communications/Operations) and Raven Wilkinson (Executive Assistant to the Commissioner & Chief Operating Officer).

Meyer, who joined the staff in 2007 as the CAA Football's Director of Communications and recently served as a CAA Football Assistant Commissioner, will oversee the league's digital initiatives (online, social and advanced media) in addition to serving in an administrative role for CAA Football.

"Scott's promotion was due in large part to the effort and hard work displayed in his previous roles for CAA Football," Yeager said. "We are excited about the energy, digital knowledge and new ideas he will bring as we continue to grow the CAA brand."

Pierson, a 2011 graduate of Virginia State University, joined the league staff in 2011 as a Compliance and Administration Intern. In his new role he will continue to assist in the day-to-day compliance duties and will serve as the primary liaison between the league office and its student-athlete programs on campus.

"The growth of complex NCAA compliance issues dictated an immediate need for CAA staff growth," Yeager said. "Vincent was a natural fit for the new full-time position given the knowledge he gained and his efforts while serving as a compliance intern."

Burrus, a previous Communications Intern for the CAA during the 2010-11 season, was most recently an Assistant Director of Athletic Public Relations at the University of Richmond. Burrus, who holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri (‘06) and two Masters degrees from Missouri (‘08) and Notre Dame (‘10), will lead all communications and operations efforts for CAA Football.

Wilkinson, a 2004 graduate of James Madison University, holds a degree in media arts & design and brings extensive graphic design experience to the league office. In her new role she will be responsible for various league branding projects, management of and various administrative duties.

"Welcoming Raven into our staff and having the opportunity to bring Zach back into the mix will enable us to insert new ideas into the way we continually promote both the CAA and CAA Football, Yeager said. "We are happy both chose to join us and can't wait for them to both impact our mission."
