UNCW’S BASS EARNS CAA WEEKLY MEN’S GOLF HONORS – SEPT. 28
RICHMOND, Va. (September 28, 2010) - UNC Wilmington's Thomas Bass has been named CAA Men's Golfer of the Week after his strong outing at the VCU Shootout.
The junior posted his first top-10 finish of the season and seventh overall after recording birdies on six of his final 11 holes at the VCU Shootout. Bass carded 74-69-68-211 (-5) at the par 72, 6,955-yard Hermitage Country Club in Manakin Sabot, Va. He recorded season-low rounds in the second and third rounds. The effort vaulted Bass into a tie for seventh overall aver entering the round in 14th. The junior was the top finisher among CAA entrants, which included James Madison, Old Dominion and host VCU. The Seahawks finished 13th among strong field of teams, including East Carolina, Wake Forest and VCU Shootout team victor Virginia.
