Fourth-seeded Hofstra won the 2012 CAA Volleyball Championship after knocking off second-seeded Delaware 3-2 in the championship match. Sophomore outside hitter Kelsie Wills was named the Most Outstanding Player after recording a double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs. The Pride (21-13, 6-6 CAA) was also led by senior setter Catalina Charry, who recorded a triple-double with 10 kills, 29 assists, and 14 digs. Delaware (16-14, 9-3 CAA) was led by senior outside hitter Alissa Alker who recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs. Hofstra entered its first NCAA championship since 2006, and was the first tournament appearance for head coach Kristina Hernandez.

Sophomore Kelsie Wills tallied 14 kills and senior Nikki Kinnier added 12 kills for Hofstra but ninth-seeded Florida State had a balanced attack of three players with seven or more kills as the Seminoles defeated the Pride, 3-0 in the 2012 NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship first round. The Pride, who were making their seventh NCAA Championship appearance, end the season with a 21-14 mark, having won seven of their last eight matches including three in the CAA Championship.

Junior outside hitter Katy Buck of the Towson University volleyball team has been named as a first team selection to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). A biology major with a 3.99 G.P.A., Buck becomes the first Tiger since Adam Overbey (football) in 2000 to earn first team honors. She is the fifth Tiger in school history to earn first team Academic All-America® honors from CoSIDA.

Northeastern's Kelly Bacon and Towson's I'ishah Keliikoa were named to the 2012 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I East Region team. Bacon was one of 15 players across the East Region to earn top honors from the AVCA, while Keliikoa was one of six to earn an honorable mention. Bacon was also named an AVCA All-American honorable mention.

Northeastern junior outside hitter Kelly Bacon has been named the 2012 CAA Volleyball Player of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches. Bacon was presented the award at the annual awards banquet on the eve of the CAA Volleyball Championship in Towson, Md.

Also earning top honors was Towson senior setter Aubrey Kirven, who was named the CAA Setter of the Year, and Delaware freshman libero Ariel Shonk, who earned CAA Defensive Specialist of the Year. CAA Rookie of the Year honors went to William & Mary freshman outside hitter Dessi Koleva, while Towson's Bruce Atkinson was named CAA Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
