OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Cara Howley • College of Charleston

Howley’s precision helped the Cougars open up inaugural CAA play with two key road victories at Northeastern and Hofstra this past weekend. Over nine total games, the junior tallied 26 kills – an average of 2.89 per set – and impressively hit .488, while committing just five errors over 43 attempts. She leads the CAA this season in hitting percentage at .343. CofC improved to 12-4 overall and ended Northeastern’s 23-game home winning streak and Hofstra’s nine-game home winning streak.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Paige Sekerak • Towson
Montgomery Village, Md./Poolesville, Jr., Libero/Defensive Specialist
Sekerak stepped up for the Tigers defensively over the weekend and played a large part in helping her team end a five-match losing skid. She turned in 19 digs in Towson’s only loss of the week versus Delaware on Friday, then had a career performance in a 3-1 victory over George Washington on Sunday. Sekerak notched 30 digs versus the Colonials, becoming the first Towson player to record 30 or more digs since 2009. The junior also added three assists and three service aces in the win and finished the week averaging seven digs per set.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Jamie Bredahl • Northeastern
Parker, Colo./Legend, Fr., Setter
Bredahl performed like an upperclassmen over the weekend despite her first-year playing status. The Colorado native posted two double-doubles as the Huskies earned a 1-1 split. She had 12 kills and 16 assists in a loss to College of Charleston on Friday, then recorded the lone-match double-double in a 3-0 win versus UNCW on Sunday with 10 kills and 11 assists. She finished the week averaging 3.14 kills and 3.86 assists per set, while hitting .304.
