CAA Volleyball Co-Offensive Player of the Week:

Alissa Alker, Sr., OH, Delaware

Alker led Delaware to a 3-0 week as the Hens extended their win streak to four. She led the team in kills and aces during the week and ranked No. 2 in digs and No. 3 in blocks with 46 and 11. Alker recorded a season-high 21 kills in the 3-2 win over then CAA-leading Northeastern and added 26 digs to post her second career 20-20 match.

 

CAA Volleyball Co-Offensive Player of the Week:

Katy Buck, Jr., OH, Towson

Buck had a solid weekend to help the Tigers earn a pair of sweeps and take a two-game lead in the CAA standings. Buck had a team-high 25 kills and averaged 4.17 kills per set for the weekend. She also hit .269 while contributing 11 digs and seven blocks. On Sunday, Buck led the Tigers to their first win over Northeastern since 2005 with a team-high 15 kills while adding seven digs and two blocks in the match.

 

CAA Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week:

Ariel Shonk, Fr., L, Delaware

Shonk receives her third CAA weekly award after leading the team in digs during the week with 83 for 6.38 per match. She recorded 24+ digs in each match during the week and her 33 digs vs. Hofstra was her third highest total of the season. Shonk's current 5.71 digs per match mark for the season ranks No. 2 all-time at Delaware.

 

CAA Volleyball Rookie of the Week:

MacKenzie Kleespies, Fr., MB, James Madison

Kleespies helped lead JMU to 1-1 record last week, including a conference win over Georgia State. She had 11 kills on .205 hitting to go with 14 digs and a career-high eight blocks against Virginia on Tuesday. She followed up that performance with 12 kills, averaging 4.00 per set, seven digs and a block in a 3-0 sweep over the Panthers Friday night. Overall, Kleespies averaged 2.88 kills and 2.63 digs per set while filling in at middle blocker for the Dukes.

 

Conference Notes

Towson increased its win streak to 14 matches following victories over Hofstra and Northeastern last weekend. The win over the Huskies was the first since 2005 and put the Tigers in sole possession of first place in the conference.

During two matches last weekend, Towson held its opponents to a combined .005 hitting percentage.

UNCW junior Christi Laite recorded a match-high 15 kills and a .542 hitting percentage in the Seahawks' 3-1 victory over William & Mary Saturday afternoon.

Delaware improved to 5-1 in five-set matches this season following its 3-2 victory over Northeastern Friday night.

Northeastern junior Kelly Bacon posted a season-high 20 kills in the Huskies' five set loss to Delaware Friday night.

UNCW is 6-1 when posting an attack percentage of .200 or higher after knocking off William & Mary Saturday and recording a .262 attack clip.

UNCW's Natalie LaHaie and Haley Collins moved up in the Seahawk record book in the all-time assists and digs categories Saturday against William & Mary. LaHaie passed Bea Gerevich to move into seventh place in the school's all-time assists category after recording 21 against the Tribe to put her at 1,486 for her career. Collins surpassed Sara DeLair for fifth place on the program's all-time digs list following 20 digs against W&M and putting her at 1,089 total digs at UNCW.
