CAA Men's Cross Country Weekly Honors -- Sept. 10

RICHMOND, Va. (September 10, 2013) – William and Mary junior Rad Gunzenhauser has been named CAA Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week after winning the Spider Alumni Open this past weekend.

The junior, who won the individual title at the event for the second straight year, cruised through Pole Green Park and crossed the finish line with a time of 15:02.3. Gunzenhauser helped the Tribe finish third out of six Division I teams at the event, which was hosted by the University of Richmond. Fellow William and Mary runner Nathaniel Hermsmeier placed fifth individually.

Among other notable marks during the second week of the 2013 cross country season was Hofstra senior Daniel Rono, who led the Pride and finished third at the St. John’s-Hofstra Cross Country Fall Festival with a time of 15:39.15 in the 5K event. Northeastern sophomore Wesley Gallagher also fared well, placing first at the Nassaney Invitational with a time of 15:21.0 to help the Huskies capture a win in their first race of the season.
