Sollowin, Quinn Earn Cross Country Runners of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 11, 2012) - Northeastern's Stephen Sollowin has been named the CAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, while UNCW's Rachel Quinn has been named the CAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Sollowin finished third overall at the Nassaney Invitational with a time of 25:45 in the men's 8k race. His time set a new personal best in the 8k, which was previously achieved at the New England Championship last season (26:15). Sollowin and teammate Wesley Gallagher each earned top 10 finishes to lead the Huskies to a second-place team finish in the Nassaney Invitational.

Quinn finished seventh out of 99 runners in the Seahawk Invite with a time of 18:54 over the 5K layout. Quinn and teammates Ashley Wybersky (8th) and Alyssa Torres (10th) earned top 10 finishes to lead UNCW to a second-place overall finish in their home meet.

The CAA placed two teams (James Madison - 7 and William & Mary - 8) in the week one USTFCCCA Southeast Region Women's Cross Country ranking. The Tribe also ranked third in the Southeast Region men's ranking.

All five CAA men's teams and all eight CAA women's teams will be in action this weekend.
