RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 4, 2012) - William & Mary sophomore Rad Gunzenhauser has been named the CAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week and Delaware junior Lindsay Prettyman has been chosen as the CAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week ending September 2.

Gunzenhauser took first place in a field of 69 runners at the 5K Spider Alumni Open on Saturday. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native crossed the line in 15:01 and beat the next closest competitor by two seconds. It was the first collegiate victory for Gunzenhauser in either cross country or track and field at William & Mary.

Prettyman captured the individual title at the season-opening Lehigh Invitational last Friday in Bethlehem, Pa. She covered the 6k course in 22:34.63 and edged teammate Nicole Daly by less than three seconds in a field of 98 runners. Delaware placed four runners in the top 10 and brought home the team championship.

The Newark, Del. native posted her fourth career top 10 finish and led the Blue Hens for the seventh time in her last eight competitions. She became the first Delaware runner to capture an individual meet title since Julia Somers won the Delaware Invitational crown in 2009. The team title was Delaware's first since winning its own Blue & Gold Invitational in 2010.
