Blue Hens' Ware Earns Weekly CAA Men's Swimming Honor -- Dec. 10

 RICHMOND, Va. (December 10, 2013) – University of Delaware junior Tim Ware has been named CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week after setting new season-bests at the 2013 AT&T Winter National Championships.

Ware, a native of Doyleston, Pa. finished 50th in the 100-yard backstroke this past weekend with a time of 50.78. He also placed 41st in the 200-yard backstroke, en route to again registering a season and career-best, clocking a mark of 1:51.06. Ware became the first UD men’s swimmer to garner weekly league honors this season.

Fellow Blue Hens, Matt Marquez, Cole Clark and Alex Tooley followed in suit, all setting new season-bests in their respective events at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. Tooley placed 44th in the 200 individual medley (1:53.23), Clark finished 55th the 100-yard butterfly (50.19) and Marquez placed 39thin the same 200-yard backstroke race (1:50.83).

Towson freshman men’s swimmer Matt Brinton clocked a time of 50.83 in the 100-yard backstroke for a 51st-place finish at the Winter Nationals as well over the weekend.

To participate in the Winter National Championships, each individual swimmer had to achieve the qualifying standard time for each event between Nov. 1 and Dec. 1.
