RICHMOND, Va. (November 5, 2013) –Towson junior Matt Lowe and William & Mary senior Andrew Strait have been tabbed Co-CAA Men’s Swimmers of the Week, while UNCW freshman Allan Crosby has been named Diver of the Week.

Lowe picked up the weekly nod for the second time this season thanks to strong individual performances at last weekend’s POD meet at George Mason. Lowe won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:34.84, and the 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:00.10. The Junior Bahamas native also registered a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:53.08. Lowe earned his first career weekly award on Oct. 22.

Strait won his first league honor of his career after leading the Tribe at the same POD meet this past weekend. On Friday, he won the 100 breaststroke in 56.32 and added two more top finishes individually in the 200 breaststroke (2:05.89) and the 200 IM (1:53.24) on Saturday. All three times were the fastest in the CAA this season. Strait also contributed to the Dukes’ winning medley relay teams in the 200 and 400, swimming the breaststroke leg on each race. The Tribe improved to 5-0 for the first time since the early 1970’s thanks to Strait’s individual and team contributions.

Crosby continues to impress in his first collegiate season, capturing CAA Diver of the Week honors for the second time this fall. Over the weekend at the POD meet, Crosby won the 1-meter dive with a score of 279.10 and placed second In the 3-meter with 253.70 points. He’s now won five diving events this season.
