RICHMOND, Va. (November 5, 2013) – Towson senior Kaitlin Burke and James Madison redshirt freshman Taryn McLaughlin have been named CAA Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, the league announced on Tuesday.

Burke, whose now been honored three times this season as the league’s Swimmer of the Week, won three individual events at last weekend’s POD meets at George Mason. She won the 200-yard free style in 1:50.51, the 500-yard free style in 4:52.27 and also finished first in the 1,650-yard free style with a time of 16:44.81. The Tigers improved to 8-0 on the year, while Burke’s time in the 1,650-yard free was the seventh-best nationally this season.

McLaughlin’s performance on the diving boards helped JMU jump out to an early lead on the first day of the CAA POD meet. The Hudson, Ohio, native recorded a first-place finish in the 3-meter dive (284.90) and led the Dukes in the 1-meter with a score of 247.20, good enough for second place. It’s also McLaughlin's second weekly honor this season.
