RICHMOND, Va. (October 8, 2013) – Towson University senior swimmer Kaitlin Burke and James Madison redshirt freshman diver Taryn McLaughlin have been named CAA Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively.

Burke, a senior from nearby Baltimore, Md., claimed Swimmer of the Week recognition in part thanks to helping the Tigers break six meet records at the Potomac Relays over the weekend. In the team-winning 800-yard freestyle relay (7:34.54) she swam a leg with a split of 1:50.47. Burke also swam a leg in the 400-yard medley relay (3:58.69, with a stellar split of 59.42) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:35.87, split of 23.30).

McLaughlin helped the Dukes open the season on a solid note with a win over Radford in the team’s opening dual meet this past weekend. She scored a 315.10 on the three-meter board and a 296.15 on the one-meter board to impressively claim her first career collegiate diving titles.
