Hoxha Competes at NCAA Menís Swimming and Diving Championships
RICHMOND, Va. (April 1, 2013) – Old Dominion’s Sidni Hoxha represented the CAA at last weekend’s NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
Hoxha opened the NCAA Championship by swimming in the 50 free Friday night. The Tirane, Albania native finished the preliminaries in 18th place with a time of 19.67, just seven hundredths of a second shy of his own school record that he set at the preliminaries of the 2013 CAA Championship. Hoxha came-up a mere three hundredths of a second shy from making the cut for the finals in the event.
Hoxha competed in his second event of the meet on Saturday, tying for 29th place in the 100 freestyle preliminary. Hoxha finished the 100 free preliminary in 43.48, which was just shy of his personal and CAA record of 43.43 that he set on Nov. 19, 2012.
Hoxha was named the Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer of the 2013 CAA Championship in Fairfax, Va. Hoxha won five medals, set four school records, and posted two NCAA B-cut times to qualify for the NCAA Championship.
