RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 30 2012) - UNCW's Gabe Thran and Drexel's David Sanchez have been named the CAA Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week. James Madison swept the women's awards with Sin Hye Won earning Women's Swimmer of the Week honors and teammate Kimberly Helfrich claiming the Women's Diver of the Week award.

Thran becomes the third Seahawk to earn Swimmer of the Week honors this season following three top-10 finishes last weekend against ACC squads Duke, Florida State, and Virginia Tech. His top performance of the weekend was as a member of the 400 Relay team that took second place with a time of 3:04.90. Thran also earned a seventh place finish in the 200 Free (1:42.70) and a 10th place finish in the 100 Free (47.11).

Sanchez picked up a total of 307.05 points to earn first-place honors in the three-meter dive in the Dragons' dual meet victories over Seton Hall, Loyola, and Lafayette last weekend. He also tallied 294.05 points to bring home second place honors in the one-meter dive.

On the women's side, Won collected three top-five individual finishes in the Dukes' dual meet losses to West Virginia and Villanova. Her top performance came in the 100-yard Breaststroke in which she took home first place with a time of 1:04.61. She also picked up a second-place finish in 200 Breaststroke (2:21.76) and a fifth place finish in 200 Individual Medley (2:10.12). Won swam the second leg for JMU's 400-yard medley relay team that placed second with a time of 3:50.40.

Helfrich brought home top honors in both the 1-meter dive (305.35) and 3-meter dive (320.10). She was the only diver to break 300 points in either of the two diving events last weekend. Helfrich has been the Dukes' top diver this season, finishing first in all four of the events that she has competed in.
