RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 20, 2012) - Old Dominion's Sidni Hoxha has been named the CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week, while the Monarchs' Kimberley Rashleigh has been selected as the CAA Women's Swimmer of the week. JMU's Kimberly Helfrich has been honored as the CAA Women's Diver of the Week, while George Mason's John Schmitz has been tabbed as the CAA Men's Diver of the Week.  

Hoxha had an outstanding weekend for the Monarchs, breaking school records in the 100 and 200 freestyle events at the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, N.C.   On the first day of competition, he won the 50 yard freestyle championship with a time of 19.9 seconds, which qualified him for the NCAA B-cut and made him eligible for the NCAA Championship. On the second day of competition, Hoxha took second in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.55, setting a new school record. Both times in the 100 and 200 free were also the top times recorded in the CAA this season.

Rashleigh posted a strong weekend at the Nike Cup for the Monarchs highlighted by a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:59.53. She set a school record in the 200 freestyle when she swam the first leg of the 800 yard freestyle relay in 1:49.62. Rashleigh also posted a time of 2:01 in the 200 IM final that qualified her to be eligible for the NCAA Championship in March. Rashleigh finished her weekend by winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.26 on the second day of competition. Her times in the 200 free, 400 IM and 200 IM were the fastest times recorded in the CAA this season.

Helfrich picks up her fourth Women's Diver of the Week honor after capturing first place in the one-meter dive at the Nike Cup. She finished with a score of 302.75 in the one-meter dive, and was the only diver to break 300 points in the event. Helfrich went into the finals of the 1-meter in fourth with a preliminary score of 264.45, and rallied to collect the first-place finish. She also took home second place in the three-meter dive with a score of 307.10.

Schmitz takes home his second Men's Diver of the Week award after a second-place finish in the one-meter dive at the Patriot Invitational last weekend. He tallied a score of 272.10 en route to earning the second place nod, while also finishing with a score of 222.80 in the three meter dive to earn a seventh place finish.
