RICHMOND, Va. (April 10, 2013) – Drexel’s Christopher Crawford and UNCW’s Payne McLeod earned CAA Men’s Golfers of the Week honors after stellar outings last week at their respective tournaments.

Crawford earned medalist in the Lafayette Invitational after carding 72-71—143 (-1) on the par 72, 6,393-yard Northampton Country Course in Easton, Pa. The freshman placed first in the par-3 scoring and third overall in par-4 scoring. He shot for par on 27 holes the best among all participants. This marks his second tournament win of the season, as well as his top five finish of his young career.  Crawford assisted the Dragons to a second place team finish at the tournament.

McLeod earns his fifth weekly honor this season after tying for a fourth place finish at the par 71, 7,009-yard Irish Creek Intercollegiate in Kannapolis, N.C., hosted at The Club.  He carded 71-69-72—212 (-1) in the prestigious event, which gave him his 12th career top 10 finish and fourth top 10 mark of the season. The junior finished tied for fourth with N.C. State’s Albin Choi, who tied for third in the most recent NCAA’s individual rankings according to  McLeod led the Seahawks to a team score of 289-283-297—869, which tied for fifth.
