RICHMOND, Va. (October 17, 2012) - UNCW junior Payne McLeod was awarded the CAA Men's Golfer of the Week honor by tying for fourth place at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate last weekend.

McLeod earned the fourth place finish at the event that was hosted by East Tennessee State University at the par 72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, Tenn. The junior led the Seahawks to a third place finish, just two strokes behind titlist and 12th-ranked Missouri and one stroke behind second place and 31th-ranked Tennessee.  McLeod opened the tournament with a one-under 71 before carding a one-over 73 in the second round. In the final round, he shot the daily low and a career-best 67, five-under par to move up 12 spots and finish five-under (71-71-67-211) for the tournament.  McLeod earned his second top-5 finish this fall after placing second a week ago at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic.
