TU's Tauber Wins Third Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor -- Oct. 8

RICHMOND, Va. (October 8, 2013) – Towson junior runner Elizabeth Tauber has once again earned CAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors following a third-place finish at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.

Tauber not only earned her third weekly award of the fall, but set a new Towson record for a 6K, finishing with a time of 21:24.10 in the Women’s Brown race en route to placing third in the field of 365 runners. Out of 45 schools, Towson finished 11th, while Tauber’s individual time broke the previous program record of 21:42.0 set by Britta Nelson set in 2006. The Bel Air, Md., product also won weekly honors on Sept. 17 and 24th.

In other CAA women’s cross country news, Delaware’s Lindsay Prettyman also impressed at the Paul Short Invitational, earning the a 77th-place finish in the Women’s Gold 6K with a  time of 21:38.0. Prettyman helped the Blue Hens capture the No. 25 spot in the field of 47 teams. She has led UD in all four races this fall and amazingly, has paced her squad in 15 straight races over three seasons.
