UNCW Student-Athletes Welcome New Frosh to Campus

WILMINGTON, N.C. - In an annual tradition that has grown in scope and popularity, UNCW's student-athletes turned out in big numbers early Saturday to help more than 2,000 members of the Class of 2016 as they arrived on a campus for the Fall, 2012, term.

Nearly 300 student-athletes from the school's intercollegiate teams set their alarms for earlier than usual to lend a hand in the massive undertaking.  Head Coaches and other athletic department staff chipped in as well as boxes were moved, clothes stacked up and electronics plugged in for the new school year.

Overall, hundreds of volunteers assisted the new freshmen and their families, many from the community at-large.
