CAA MEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Will Manny, Massachusetts
Jr., A, Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony’s

Manny, one of two Preseason CAA Player of the Year picks, earns the league’s first Player of the Week honor in 2012. The junior poured in a career-best seven goals and finished with nine points in UMass’ 12-9 win over Army to open the season. He also led the team in groundballs (6) and caused to turnovers (2) including an interception on an Army clear which led to a goal. Manny finished the game 7-for-9 on shots.

 

CAA MEN’S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Chris Herbert, Delaware
Fr., GK, Mansfield, Mass./Xavierian Brothers

Herbert garners the league’s first Rookie of the Week honor in 2012 after helping the Blue Hens to a 2-0 season start. The rookie keeper kicked off his career with a 15-save effort in Delaware’s win over Detroit, allowing just six goals. The league’s current goals-against leader (7.64), then made eight saves in an 11-10 overtime-win at No. 12 Bucknell Saturday.
