A group of 15 Georgia State student-athletes joined in the fun of a Fall Festival at the Fuqua Boys and Girls Club.
The Panthers enjoyed their visit to share some fun and stories on October 27 with the children at the Boys and Girls Club on Lovejoy Street in downtown Atlanta.
GSU's "big kids" helped the "not as big kids" with Dance Central on Kinect, with air hockey games, with card games and with games of chance. The groups participated in an inflatable castle, with a haunted room and with some basketball. GSU helped feed the children with hot dogs, chips and drinks. There was a costume contest and some winners took home a bicycle. Add in all the free candy and everyone is probably making their plans to be at next year's Fall Festival.
Those representating Georgia State were women's tennis players Katerina Gresova, Masa Grgan, Tereza Lerova, Maryna Kozachenko, Abigail Tere-Apisah, Martina Ondrackova and Reba Williams. The softball team was represented by Lauren Coleman, Shannyn Palazzo, Christina Reed and Taylor Scarpantonio. The men's basketball team had Ryan Green, Tony Kimbro, Rashard Richardson and Kevin Shaw enjoying the activities.
GSU student-athletes participate year-round in community events and service and combine for more than 5,000 hours of volunteer time.
