BOSTON (Jan. 14, 2011) - Northeastern fans, do you want a chance to win exciting prizes such as being driven around for a day on campus in a golf cart? Join the women's hockey team on Jan. 22 at Matthews Arena at 2 p.m. as
the Huskies host New Hampshire in their Hockey East Skating Strides
game. The game raises awareness about breast cancer research as well as
funds for the Friends of Mel Foundation.
The Huskies need your help to not only cheer them on as they look to
sweep the season series against the Wildcats, but to also raise money to
help beat breast cancer! All ticket revenue from the game will go to
Hockey East Skating Strides.
A donation of just $1 will enter you in a raffle for a chauffeured golf
cart ride from PAWS around campus for a day. Other prizes that will be
raffled off include a one-night stay at the Colonnade, USA Hockey
apparel, lunch on campus and gift cards from Chipotle. Only students
will be eligible for the golf cart ride, while everyone who enters the
raffle will be eligible for the other prizes.
The following afternoon the Huskies will travel to Kingston, Mass. to
face off against Providence at the BOG. After the game, the players and
coaches from both teams will participate in a postgame skate/meet &
greet. The event is free, but there is a suggested $5 donation. All
proceeds will go to Hockey East Skating Strides.
