HARRISONBURG, Va. (March 17, 2011) - James Madison University's Student-Athletes Advisory Committee has bridged the gap between students and student-athletes with the creation of a SAAC liaison position within the Student-Government Association (SGA).
SAAC President, Jessica Zéroual, spoke on behalf of the student-athletes at a Senate meeting this month (March 2011) and was able to propose the creation of a representative for student-athletes within the student-government body. With the help of the executive committee and the representatives from each team, Jessica was able to express the need for the creation of this position.
SAAC has also implemented an SGA position within their organization in order to have mutual and collaborative efforts between two highly influential organizations on campus. This has opened new venues for student-athletes to contribute to the great student body. This position is highly anticipated to change the face of SAAC as well as SGA and future projects are promising for both groups.
Jessica Zéroual will be working close with SGA President Andrew Reese to implement this position for the remainder of the Spring 2011 semester and have it be a sustainable part of SGA and SAAC in the future.
