PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 4, 2011) - Members of the Drexel Women's Lacrosse Team held a Bone Marrow Registration Drive at the DAC Recreation Center Lobby on Friday. The team enlisted 100 new registrants for the National Bone Marrow Registry.

Thousands of sick patients need a genetic match to save their lives, and these new registrants will now be eligible to donate to the many who are in need.  Many of the players also made a commitment by registering. For more information about the Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry visit www.marrow.org. We learned that the record for registrants in one day is held by Yale, which registered 1,500 people in a day. The women's lacrosse squad is a competitive bunch and the teams plan to make a run for that title with a warm-weather event in the fall.
